Lots of changes!!
Hi Everybody,
It's been a very long time since I last blogged. Left this part to Ben for a while as I was busy on one big project: MOVING!! As you could see from our october 15th special offers, we moved from our former warehouse to a bigger and more convenient place!! We are now within 10 miles from London, which should allow us to improve our delivery schedule.
Our move should allow to ensure a much better quality of service: more reliable and more reactive to your queries and needs. We still have lots of things to work on but the main workflows are now streamlined and we are eager to look forward to an even brighter future :-)
With the new warehouse comes also new packaging to improve the quality of deliveries. All overnight deliveries will now have additional wrapping and security bits to avoid damage during transportation. This will come at no extra cost for you.
These good news also comes along the hiring of Oliver which will help you in sales. Oliver has been a salesperson for over 3 years in various industries and as now gone through his training and is ready to pick up the phone (or his keyboard) and answer you (and your emails). Don't hesitate to call him or any other member of staff on 08000 12 20 20.
To salute all this, we managed to go through a couple of record breaking days in terms of numbers of orders taken in the last couple of weeks.
All this is very promising and very exciting I think.
Good shopping on Bedeezee!

I want £283 more for my bed!
Hi everybody,
It's been a long time since I blogged here. I'm letting Ben have all the fun!!!!
Anyway, I was reading a press release this morning about back pain and possible new therapies, the press release enhances yoga and pilates as the best proven therapies. Already interesting!!
But even more interesting I think is the fact that the press release states it is estimated that back pain costs the UK industry £5bn a year (£481m just for NHS).
Now if we consider those facts:
- A good bed lasts 10 years
- We spend one third of our life in bed
- Sleep is usually the period where your back gets "back into shape"
- A bad mattress is the worst that can happen for a back pain sufferer
- A good mattress all your life prevents backpain
- When you start feeling back pain, it is very difficult to heal!
And transform them into numbers:
- 10 years of back pain cost £50bn (!!!!!!) to the UK industry and £4.81bn to the NHS alone
- Just one third of it costs £17bn (and £1.45bn for NHS)
- Per inhabitant, that's £283 (and £25 for NHS alone)!!
- The average cost of a bed is £250 and it lasts 12 year. (whereas we should spend more I think, see here for more info)
- The last year of a bed is the one where the sleeper's backpain increases most.
This drives me to one conclusion:
- The UK industry could spend a further £283 per person to improve their sleeping at no extra cost.
- The NHS could subsidize beds for a further £25 per person
In beds, spending twice the price usually increases the quality 4 to 5-fold!
So, what are we waiting for? I'm sure pilates and yoga works great but what about preventing rather than healing. It's always less expensive: Let's buy good chairs, good beds for our employees!!! And let's get a tax credit to do it! Better this than nukes (or not !!! I'm not a nuke specialist :-))
Have a great WE!!

Our apologies
It's good to talk about things when they go right- It’s also good to acknowledge them when they go wrong.
We would like to express our deepest apologies to our customers who were supposed to be delivered last Saturday and yesterday (Monday). On Friday, a mistake happened with our carrier company: all the beds and mattresses that left went to a truck for three-day service, rather than next day.
After that mistake was made, the earliest we could deliver all the beds was Tuesday. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this mistake has caused and we wish our customers excellent nights to come.

Other things you can do with your pillow !
As the week end starts, I would like you to discover something fun.
You may have heard of "flash mobbing": A flash mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. They are usually organized with the help of the Internet or other digital communications networks.
Some groups of people have organized "Pillow fights flash mobs". They organize themselves in groups called "Pillows fight clubs".
Here are the rules of Pillow Fight Club:
- You do tell everyone about PillowFight Club.
- You do tell everyone about PillowFight Club.
- If someone whines or has no pillow, you cannot hit them.
- Everyone joins in the fight.
- The one fight starts at the designated time - No earlier.
- No tar, no heavy things in pillows.
- PillowFights will go on until they're done.
- If this is your first night at PillowFight Club, you have to get feathered.
Pillow fights events have happened in London, San Francisco, New York, Melbourne, etc. Visit the Laughing Squid blog to see more pictures.
Have a good week end!!

Monkey world!
Hi everybody,
Quite a long time without blogging but I was quite busy. Sorry about that: when I think I had pledged to write every three days....
Anyway, quite surprising to hear about chimps at an online bed & bedding retailer, no?
That's what we thought too when we received an email asking us if we had any used or returned textile products we could send out for them (the chimps and monkeys of course).
One person contacted us as she had adopted a monkey from Monkey world. It's a place in Dorset, kind of like a zoo but with only monkeys that have quite sad stories (pets being abandoned at petrol stations, or found wandering in the streets) or that are retired (after a model or actor career if you see it by the bright side). Monkey world tries to offer them a place where they're being taken care of.
In this taking care of process, they offer you to adopt a chimp! And try to help them offer her/him a better future than past. I think I like Tuan most!!
It's also according to a lot of websites (and Donal, one of your salespersons) a great day out in Dorset!! (It's open to the public in order to raise consciousness and get some funding I guess)
If you want some more info, I'm sure I could pass on your emails to Kath that contacted us.
