The Big Sleep

Here is a conundrum for this week end:

A truck is on its way from London to deliver a mattress in Birmingham (118 miles). This journey usually takes 3 hours. At Milton Keynes, the truck breaks down because of a burst radiator hose.

However, the truck is at the customer's door one hour before the expeted delivery time. How is this possible?
